A 21-year-old housewife, Monica Poni, has won a fully-furnished house worth sh160m in the ongoing Zain promotion.
“I am very excited about my new home... I sent messages as many times as I could... I am very surprised. I cannot believe my luck,†an excited Poni said. The mother of a two-year-old boy, who came to Kampala from Koboko a month ago, has been living in a bed-sitter (one room house).
“Winning this house is a miracle because I never expected to win. “This a life-changing experience as I will no longer have to worry about paying rent.
“I feel secure now because I have a home to fall back to in case of anything,†Poni said at a ceremony to receive her house situated in the Zain Village in Kisaasi, a Kampala suburb last week. The first draw of the three houses that were up for grabs was presided over by the state minister in the
vice-President’s office, James Baba, the Koboko Woman MP, Margaret Baba Diri and Zain managing director, Yesse Oenga.
“I would like to congratulate Monica, whose dreams have come true. She believed in Zain and now she has the house to show for it,†Oenga said. while handing over the house keys to Poni.
Oenga said the promotion was aimed at rewarding their customers across the country for their loyalty.
“Zain promises a wonderful world and this is just one of the ways we are delivering.â€
“We have added three bonus Honda CRV’s in the promotion, because we want to thank our customers for the overwhelming support thus giving them higher chances to win these super vehicles.
“So far 10 cars and one house (Poni’s) have been wonâ€, Oenga said.
Baba congratulated Poni and commended Zain for its quality network and coverage across the country. Poni became the second female winner in the promo after Hafsa Luka, a tailor in Kitintale, who won a Honda CRV.
