EDITOR—I have noted with concern the following categories of vehicles on our roads that blatantly break traffic regulations; lVehicles with NS .... series of number plates, whose ‘number plates’ are simply hand-painted sheets of metal. -Those commonly known as ‘breakdown.’ -KCC trucks.
These vehicles do not have insurance stickers! Isn’t this a breech of traffic rules? You can guess what the criminals might be doing with painted numberplate cars.
Secondly, most of the ‘breakdown’ vehicles are DMCs. Most of them do not have brakes and parking lights. They usually park near Police stations and to make it worse, on pavements.
The KCC trucks lack parking lights and reflectors and their tyres are usually worn out. You can imagine what danger these moving scraps pose to the lives of our citizens. Afande Kale Kayihura should come to our rescue.
