THE Supreme Court has ruled that the Government compensates a Mukono farmer with sh300m.

The award is for the destruction of former sports administrator, Abbey Lutaaya’s crops and a 300-acre agro-forest located near the Mpoma Satellite Station in Mukono district by the army in 1995.

The court overturned an award of sh600m, which the Court of Appeal had awarded to Lutaaya.

The same court, however, confirmed an award of sh100m as general damages at a rate of 8% per annum until full payment is made.
