According to a statement from the group’s legal officer, Mbire is expected to defend the group’s interests on the board in a spirit of mutual understanding with other members.
“The company counts on you to perform your responsibilities to the highest standards,†the statement stated.
Recently, he was also appointed on the board of Rift Valley Railways (RVR), the concessionaire running the Kenya-Uganda railways and is also the chairman of MTN Uganda. Mbire is also director of Eskom Uganda.
