HEAVYWEIGHT boxer Peter Okhello has decided to lie low after his humiliating defeat to WBC world champion Oleg Maskaev in Moscow, Russia, last year.

The Japan-based prize-fighter sneaked home on Christmas eve and has since kept himself away from the public.

Okhello who lost to Maskaev in a unanimous 12-rounder points verdict on December 10, is reported constructing houses for rent in Ntinda, a Kampala suburb.

Sources close to the towering fighter say the 2000 Sydney boxing team Olympian, disguised in a large brim hat, moves in tinted cars. Night movements characterise his daily programmes.

“We have also failed to contact him. All his usual telephones are off. This is very surprising,” lamented a close source.

The soft spoken Okhello is known for his secret life style. But this latest development is shocking for a man who has had a shot at the world title, wondered another close friend.
