Uganda Netball Federation has landed an invitation for the Zone V East, Central and Southern Africa Netball championships. The Africa ranking event due next month in Zanzibar will also act as a qualifying platform for the Africa Netball championships slated for July in South Africa.

Minor jailed
An English minor league soccer player was jailed for four months on Thursday for breaking an opponent’s jaw with a punch during an FA Cup match, police said. James Cotterill, of Conference North team Barrow, is thought to be the first player in recent times to be jailed for on-pitch violence during a senior game in England.

Osinde chance
Former national fast-arm bowler Henry Osinde who changed his nationality is favourite to play at the 2007 cricket World Cup.
Osinde was named on the penultimate 19-man Canada squad from where the final 14-man squad will be selected for the big event. His medium pace, good line and length have made him a darling for the side in the recent tours, always leading Canada to victory.
