Birungi, a former presenter who rose to the top job after the previous manager was fired, was also fired along with more than half of the station’s presenters on grounds of incompetence. The radio is owned by jailed former Toro kingdom premier John Sanyu Katuramu.
Trouble started brewing when Katuramu appointed his brother, Twine Katuraamu to take charge.
At the height of the tension between the two men, Birungi lost his job for insubordination. Now we hear all the fired staff including the news editor, have been re-hired.
