THE Police in Mukono have arrested three men in possession of fake dollar bills amounting to $26,004 (about sh48m).

THE Police in Mukono have arrested three men in possession of fake dollar bills amounting to $26,004 (about sh48m).
James Aurien, the district Police commander, told journalists yesterday that they arrested the men after a tip-off from a pastor who was supposed to buy the dollars.
“We surrounded the pastor’s house in Namengo, Lugazi and arrested them. They tried to resist, but we overpowered them.â€
He added that the money was in $100 bills. The Police also seized chemicals used in the making of fake money.
Aurien identified the culprits as Ronald Oteba, 32, a resident of Entebbe, Fred Mulondo, 29, and Richard Matanda, 40, both of Kireka in Wakiso.
He said they will be charged with possessing counterfeit money.
