DFCU Bank has started providing students with soft loans at affordable interest rates to enable them pay tuition fees on time, the bank’s executive director, Paul Musoke, has revealed.

Musoke said during the opening of the Makerere University branch that the loans are given to students who work and range from sh500,0000 to sh1.5m per semester at affordable interest rates.

“Plans are underway to give loans to non-working students who might have school fees problems. Makerere has about 30,000 students. The bank does not want them to miss its services,” Musoke said.

The Makerere branch is at the Faculty of Women and Gender Studies and has two banking halls for students and non-students.
