THE Forum for Democratic Change president, Col. Kizza Besigye, has told his supporters not to lose hope.

He said at a rally on Saturday at the Children’s Park in Masaka town: “Some of our supporters have lost hope, saying we tried the man (Museveni) in 2001 and 2006 and failed to beat him. But we shall continue to fight his system until we win.”

Besigye, who arrived in the town in a convoy of bodaboda cyclists and paralysed business, launched the sale of party cards in the district.

He said whether it took the party one day, one year or five years, it would dislodge the Movement.

Besigye noted that the Movement was currently facing its worst time and would soon fall. “We told you of the Tsunami that will catch up with the Museveni regime. Though it could not come in a day, it will be gradual but be sure that they will go.”

He urged supporters to buy cards to confirm their membership and prepare for party grassroot elections. He claimed museveni travels through masaka at night because it is a stronghold of the FDC.

Party officials Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu, Dr. Sulaiman Kiggundu and MP Nabbila Naggayi attended the rally.

Muntu said many Movement leaders were afraid of losing power because they had been implicated in corrupt ventures and were scared of accounting for their misdeeds.
