EXPRESS FC striker Hassan Mubiru has passed professional soccer trials with Danish Superliga side Silkeborg IF.

Express official Farouk Ssimbwa yesterday confirmed that the international striker (left) who has been in Denmark for three weeks impressed.

Danish agent Claus Bronfest at the weekend telephoned Ssimbwa informing him that Silkeborg would recruit Mubiru.

“It’s a very good move for Mubiru. He was yet to negotiate personal terms but he’s eager to join the club. We are yet to get details of the contract,” Ssimbwa stated.

According to the deal between Express and Claus, the club is supposed to take 10% of the amount that Silkeborg will pay.

Earlier, Claus entered an initial sh10m deal with Express that saw him take Mubiru to Denmark.

Mubiru is expected back in Kampala later this week to process the international transfer certificate and renew his visa that expires on February 1.

Mubiru’s teammate Tony Odur will this week start trials with the same club.

The Ugandan strikers will bear the task of saving bottom placed Silkeborg from relegation.

The 1993-94 Danish Superliga champions hope Mubiru will turn around their fortunes.

Meanwhile, James Bakama adds FUFA’s competitions committee will convene today to map a way forward on how to respond to Namboole management’s decision to put off matches at the stadium.

Namboole suspended matches at the complex until next month to allow work on the football ground. Police and Boroboro who were scheduled to play yesterday at the venue, were the first victims.
