THE Kids League (TKL) soccer team opened their South American tour with a 0-0 draw against strong La Crema 2000 in Lima on Tuesday.
TKL proved a tough nut to crack for the Peruvians, who had earlier defeated Team Mayer 3-1 and were looking to overcome TKL in their last classification match.
Ibrahim Juma and Dennis Guma kept the La Crema defence on their back foot in a game the former rattled the cross bar.
TKL were playing Team Mayer last night, a tie they had to win by a margin of three goals in order to finish top of group C and qualify for Friday’s knockout stages of the Copa De La Amistad tournament. Earlier on Monday, TKL had scored a 2-0 walkover win over Eye Inversiones FC from Iquitos, who failed to honour their fixture.
“The boys played very bravely in the game against a strong academy side (La Crema), which should give them a lot of confidence for their next fixture against Team Mayer,†TKL coach Eddie Butindo said.
