Nambooze was provoked by Police!
SIR — In his letter “Nambooze, style up†published on Tuesday, Mr. Davies Rwabu lashed out at Betty Nambooze for celebrating her court victory over her political rival in such a ‘chaotic’ manner.

Rwabu should be informed that it is the police that led to that type of response from Nambooze and her supporters.
I would also like to remind him that in October 2005, when Dr. Kizza Besigye came back from exile in South Africa, the police did not intervene to give “security†and as a result, the procession from Entebbe to Kampala was peaceful and there was no chaos.
Rwabu wonders how Nambooze could begin celebrating even when she is not yet in Parliament. She went to court so that Bakaluba’s election could be nullified. Her prayers were answered, so why not celebrate?
How do you consider the police’s banning of other celebrations countrywide claiming that January 26 was gazetted for NRM celebrations? The people of Mukono had only been hearing of the Police gas but thanks to Betty Nambooze, they have now tasted it!
