Canada minister of foreign affairs Peter MacKay has urged the LRA and the Government to show continued commitment to the peace talks.

Mackay said the donor country supports Juba as host of the faltering talks.

He expressed this while meeting foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa on Thursday.
MacKay announced that Canada would contribute $2.5m for stabilisation and peace building projects in the north.

“The current peace process represents the best opportunity in two decades to build a lasting and peaceful solution to the conflict in Uganda,” MacKay is quoted in a press release from Ottawa.
