Not to be outdone, UK-based Ugandan singer, Fada Pest, has rolled out another new single, The Bullet.

The song is a promotional single off the singer’s upcoming new international album, The Battle.

Its militaristic overtones notwithstanding, the song, a slamming dancehall beat, with a throbbing bass line and get-up-and dance rhythm, is about man’s relationship with God.

“I am a spiritual person and I hate seeing people take the Lord’s name in vain,” says the 27-year-old singer, whose real name is Isaac Musasizi.

“In this song, I speak out against those hypocrites who swear in God’s name, but abandon him when things look up, only to come crawling back when they are in trouble.”

Quite religious for a guy who has been hard at secular music for the past 13 years. However, it should be remembered that Fada Pest who actually recorded an entire gospel album, recently won funding from a UK church after he put on an impressive performance.

Not much is known about the rest of the album, but Fada, who is still in studio, says it will reflect his new desire to connect with his Ugandan audience.

In line with the same desire, Fada is keen to work with Ugandan artistes. The singer who recently performed with Bebe Cool at London’s Club 791, is lined to curtain raise at Bobi Wine’s upcoming Easter show in the UK.

The singer had earlier met and performed with Jose Chameleone on the singer’s recent visit at the invitation of Raks Entertainment.

Fada’s other strategy this year is re-inventing himself in order to remain relevant to the dynamic musical industry.

The singer, whose biggest claim to fame is Ninana, the radio hit off his first album, has since moved away from his original dancehall style. Most of his current music tactfully blends bongoflava, Afro and dancehall beats.
