ABIM - The UPDF 5th Division Commander, Col. Lucky Kidega, has assured the people of Abim district, that the army will protect them and their property from the Karimojong cattle rustlers. He urged the population, during the Army Day celebrations, to cooperate with the UPDF, other security bodies and district leaders. Kidega also affirmed UPDF’s support to the Juba peace talks.

Orphans get scholastic aid

LIRA - At least 300 orphans and vulnerable children in Oyam and Lira districts will receive scholastic materials from the Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) Uganda. The group’s regional manager, Fred Owera Odom, says the donation will boost the children’s performance in class. Caregivers have also been trained to assist in the distribution exercise.
