JENNIFER and Anthony were treated to the special courses of dishes at Kyoto Japanese Restaurant on Plot 39, Shimoni Road, Nakasero. The mystery dates were amazed at the tasty treat of Japanese food. They fell in love with the special chicken toriyaki, which was served with fried fish and the chef’s special soup. Other courses were fried noodles served with vegetables and vegetables with fried rice.

I WAS nervous as I came to the date. But I did not want to imagine how he would be or how the evening would go. When you do that and it turns out differently, it spoils everything. But I feared for nothing because he was okay. I had fun and it was a good evening. What were the strengths you discovered in him? He is very funny, interesting, nice and really thoughtful. He is also confident and intelligent. It is very easy to have and sustain a decent conversation with him. Not many men can sustain a conversation with a woman for the first time without talking of the car they are driving or their other possessions. Any weaknesses? Not really. Maybe that he was very self-conscious and cared so much about what people thought of him. Would he make a good boyfriend? I think so. He seems to be very caring and attentive. So will you say yes if he asks you for love? I don’t know. I need more outings to come to that conclusion. But I would go out again if he asked me. Then I would study him more. But would you invite him to visit you at home? Maybe, why not. He is presentable, isn’t he? Would you visit him at his home? I think so, if he invited me. Any memorable event of the date? It was the wish bridge. We were told to make a wish and I made one. I want to see whether it works out. I hope it does. I can’t tell you my wish – we are not supposed to.

I WAS a bit nervous but settled easily. Jennifer found me there. She was very presentable. But I feared her dreadlocks. I had always associated dreadlocks with reckless behaviour and drugs but she gave me a good lecture about them and I was convinced. The evening began like it would not work out at all but, wow, it ended up being a very beautiful night. It was a short moment of life which cannot easily be forgotten. Yes! Tell me more! Jennifer is open-minded and, yeah, to some extent, doesn’t mind so much about what people say. She is very natural and, can I call her African woman? She is confident, intelligent and humorous. She has a mature outlook to life – she is not a fantasising adolescent. Does she not have any weakness? Maybe she is very suspicious. She is attentive to what lies between the lines. Would she make a good lover? As of now and what I know about her, yes. Of course there is a limit to what you can know about a person the very first time you meet. You need time to study other facts of one’s life. But unless any grave thing comes up, what I saw in the few hours we were together was acceptable. Are you going to ask her for love then? I wouldn’t want to answer that. Just leave nature to take its course. I will certainly keep in touch because she is such good company. Maybe we shall pick a rhythm and get closer, who knows?
