What did you prepare for Valentine’s Day?

I do not celebrate Valentine’s Day because I believe love is an everyday thing. As long as my partner is with me, I do not need to wait for a special day to express my love. Our love should always be burning.

So you actually have a boyfriend?

Yes. I just call him Handy. He hates being in the papers, so let us respect his interests.

It’s surprising that I do not know Handy among the men you have been linked to. I have heard of big and successful men.

Sorry, none of those men has ever been my partner. Whenever I am seen with a man, they say we are having an affair. How can I accommodate more than one person? The fact is that I am seeing only one man in my life. I will introduce him at the right time.

But don’t you think it is time you gave Uganda a kid as beautiful as you?
I won’t have a child because so and so has got one. I do not follow the bandwagon; the child will come at the right time. Besides, this is a private issue.

Have you put Handy in a bottle the way you advise women to do on your CBS radio programme?

(Laughs) No! The Nvannungi on air is different from the one you see outside. At work, I am creative. But outside, I am a born-again Christian. Anyway, I wouldn’t want to discuss my job further because it is not ethical.

But do love potions work?

It is what you believe in that works for you. It is better to perform your specific duties right so that your partner has no room for complaints. If you do not, the so-called love potions are nothing.

Then why do you misguide others on radio?

First of all, what I tell them are normal vegetables and grass used in our daily lives. Secondly, I cannot force someone to believe in what I believe in.

People say you have love jinx. That the men who get closer to you, get misfortunes! They refer to some phone dealer, whose business went aground and another guy whose Mercedes Benz crashed beyond repair. You survived that accident.
Oh! No. That is trash. I have never lost a boyfriend. You have just said I am linked to big and successful people. Actually, everyone I am linked to is in society’s A-class and they are doing very well. Nevertheless, being linked to people doesn’t mean they are my men. I have one boyfriend and he is doing well.

How about Orji? Doesn’t that name bring a smile on your face?

Orji has been my fellow actor. By the way, I do not date artistes; it does not make sense dating someone in the same profession. Handy is in a different profession. If I was to move out with artistes, I would end up with everybody. I respect my body, my relationship and my family background.

What attracted you to Handy?

He is a God-fearing, educated and disciplined man, who respects me and other people. Above all, he loves me the way I am.

How many marriage proposals have you got so far?

I can get six or more in a week. You see, I am what they want, but they are not what I want.

Maybe you do not believe in marriage?

I do. Women, however, beautiful or famous, need a man to have respect in society. We need reference and a shoulder to lean on. Every woman wishes to be married, but I believe in marriage without divorce.

How can people get true love?
True love comes to those who know how to love. It is a two-way thing. If you want true love, love the same way. The problem is that some people want to be loved, yet they do not love back the same way.
