KAMPALA rugby clubs Kobs, Pirates, Rhinos, Sailors and Boks will test themselves in the second edition of the Chairman’s Cup today, ahead of the Bell league.

Six clubs, including guests Entebbe Mongers RC, will compete on a round robin basis in the one-day event that will have the winner pocket sh0.5m.

“It will be exciting seeing most of the players brush off the rust after a long break. But the clubs will also be assessing themselves ahead of the league,” Kampala club chairman Stephen ‘Foxy’ Ojambo remarked.

Ojambo revealed that all participating clubs will be rewarded financially, ahead of the long season that starts on Saturday.

Defending champions uganda telecom Kobs will charge against Pirates and Rhinos, while Sailors take on Boks and Mongers in the preliminaries.

Meanwhile, champions Namilyango start the run to retain the schools super division league with a tie against London College tomorrow.

The annual league starts today with King’s College Budo taking on Kabojja.
