Kudos to Namboole for ignoring ‘carpet’
SIR - Kudos to Nambole for refusing that artificial turf. Nakivubo should follow
Let them take it to Wankulukuku which has a bad pitch. When European soccer teams come to the United States of America, they insist on playing on natural grass fields.

A lot of money is consequently spent removing the artificial turf and placing real grass for just one game. Mind you, this is in areas with grass unfriendly weather.

Why then is the international soccer governing body FIFA and their ignorant agents FUFA forcing turf on our country where grass grows naturally. By the way, we will have to pay through the nose to replace the turf.

It’s time FUFA stepped up and told FIFA that turf is a bad idea in Uganda. If they want good fields, let them teach us how to maintain good grass fields.

Why are local stadia empty?
SIR - The stadia attendance by soccer fans is too low to sustain the soccer clubs and the game generally.

Therefore:
(a) Games could be organised on week days when there are no English Premier league games.
(b) Charge sh500 minimum and 2000 maximum in Kampala.
(c)Tickets should have raffle lucky numbers so fans can win something like a radio, or bicycle. There must also be some entertainment at gaems.
