US-based pugilist Kassim Ouma is passionate about top female musical talent in Uganda. First, it was singer Mariam Ndagire whom he flew from New York to Las Vegas in 2005 to morale boost him by singing the national anthem. The Juliana-obsession developed into a fully blown affair that could result into a marriage. Now, the latest we hear is that as soon as the boxer heard that Iryn Namubiru (right) was in the US, he immediately got on the phone with her. Scouts in the US say Ouma told Namubiru, he was honoured to talk to the number one female singer in Uganda. They say he told her he adored her music, especially Lwaki Onzanyirako. To prove his point, we hear, he sang some of her songs. Ouma reportedly offered to fly Namubiru from Boston, where she was performing, to his Palm Beach mansion in Florida, to be the guest of honour at his son’s birthday. He promised to book her into a Five Star hotel and cater for all expenses including a return air ticket. However, she failed to get a connecting flight. The restless Ouma who called several times was disappointed!
