Bourse turnover soars to sh2.3b

THE Uganda Securities Exchange recorded sh2.3b in turnover yesterday, a report showed.

The report said 16.6 million shares from two counters exchanged hands.

Stanbic Bank dominated trading, accounting for sh2.3b after trading 16.5 million shares. Dfcu had sh52m after 113,402 shares were exchanged. Dfcu traded each share at sh465, while Stanbic sold at sh145.

The special lots board had an outstanding bid of 5.7 million Stanbic shares at sh115 and sh125 per share.

The New Vision and Stanbic counters registered outstanding offers of 26,568 shares at sh465 per share and 993,800 shares.
