UNBS, be more vigilant

SIR — I was disgusted when I read in the press that 40 people had died as a result of drinking crude waragi.
SIR — I was disgusted when I read in the press that 40 people had died as a result of drinking crude waragi.
Where is the Uganda National Bureau of Standards? They need not react only when people die. Besides it seems they concentrate in Kampala city only.
For instance, there are 100ml packets of water being sold in Gulu with no UNBS logo.
There are also many other products on the market which do not show who manufactures them or where they are manufactured from. Why doesn’t UNBS check all products made locally?
Or is it only products from big companies that should be branded?
