At the launch of the new bank’s logo at the bank’s head office on Entebbe Road last Saturday, the tough-talking Kagugube stunned everyone. Amidst the excitement that ensued after the Central Bank Governor Tumusiime Mutebile unveiled the logo, Kagugube grabbed the microphone and started crooning Green Green Grass of Home, an American country hit by Tom John.
Kagugube’s warm baritone, expressive power and his voice projection impressed many, including the Archbishop of Kampala, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, who was seen nodding his head rhythmically.
Kagugube ‘fans’ showered him with big bank notes. Later he revealed that he was so excited with the bank’s new developments that he could not help himself. This is why he sang the song that his mother cherished.
