MBALE- The municipal council on Saturday launched a cleaning exercise in which residents removed heaps of garbage that littered the town. Deputy mayor Hajat Jamila Naleba and the town clerk, MacKay Opolot Odele, kick-started the “keep Mbale clean” operation. Deputy resident district commissioner Cox Nyakairu and the district Police chief, Abbey Kisubi took part in the exercise. There were also volunteers from the Police Force, the municipal council, councillors, the Islamic University in Uganda, School of hygiene, Uganda Christian University and staff from Standard chartered and centenary rural development banks.

Families get sh38m aid

KABERAMAIDO- Families have received aid worth sh39.3m from the Prime minister’s office. the LC5 chairman, Robert Engulu, recently distributed sorghum and maize seeds as well as beans and millet to the beneficiaries.
