Funds that were meant for upgrading division roads have been channelled towards Commonwealth (CHOGM) roads.
“Tarmac roads have been given to the works ministry to work on them for the Commonwealth summit.
Unfortunately, this means roads like Nalukolongo-Mutundwe, which are classified as ‘non-priority,’ will receive attention after the meeting,†the Lubaga Division Finance Committee chairman, John Lukaaga, said.
“We are left only to do gravel work and patch up the roads,†Lukaaga said.
“We have programmes regarding which roads should be done first. This new turn means the plans have been disregarded,†he said during an interview this week.
