SC VILLA’S hopes of reducing the gap on table leaders URA FC could be damaged by the absence of Augustine Nsumba. A thigh injury has forced Villa’s fleet-footed forward out of today’s engagement that could have implications on proceedings of the Super League title race.

Villa will see the game as the perfect opportunity of turning around their slow start to the second round following their goalless draw against Boroboro on Sunday.

Coach Asuman Lubowa expects his charges to pass the ball better, play with greater cohesion and show the sleeves-up mentality that was lacking against Boroboro.

A win for Villa at the Masindi grounds will shove second-placed Jogoos to just a point behind the tax collectors.

Kinyara, whose season has been nothing short of incredible, hope to prolong their exciting league momentum that has helped them to an unbeaten run at home.

Kinyara beat Villa 1-0 in Namboole in the first round and held URA goalless on Saturday.

“We want to continue proving to everybody that this is our season though it will be a difficult game for both sides,” Kinyara coach Leo Adraa stressed.

At Nakivubo Stadium, KCC FC will be expected to recover from their 2-1 defeat to Iganga in their Kampala derby against City Lads. KCC are placed third after losing to Iganga last week.

Whether Iganga TC possess the resilience to claim the scalps of yet another traditional giant in Express FC at Wankulukuku, remains to be seen.

In yesterday’s game, Police FC’s new signing Henry Kakooza started off his stay with the Cops on a good note with a late winner at Nakivubo Stadium.

The former Express striker stabbed in an Andrew Basoma cross in the 83rd minute, ending an otherwise frustrating evening.
