FUFA’s sponsorship and marketiing committe resolved on Tuesday to use the game to raise funds to ensure Cranes complete their Nations Cup campaign without a hitch.

According to FUFA officials Fred Muwema and Moses Magogo, their budget for the subsequent games against Niger and Lesotho is sh520m.

“If we charge sh10,000 we shall have a deficit of sh300m. If it’s sh15,000, we shall have a deficit of sh100m of our budget for the Nigeria and Lesotho games,” Magogo told the press yesterday.

The game will be played at Mandela stadium Namboole whose official capacity is 40,202 seats.

“We request the fans to bear with us. The extra sh5,000 will be a fundraising towards the welfare of the team and the coach,” Muwema said.

According to Dennis Mbidde, FUFA’s marketing chief, the net revenue from the game will accordingly enable the federation cater for expenditure that includes sh53m for the team’s training sessions plus upkeep for German coach Laszlo Csaba.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa and vice president finance Jowali Kyeyago gave the proposals a green light.
