THE body of an Indian killed on Thursday during a demonstration in Kampala is to be flown back to India. Rajni Taylor, who heads the Ugandan Indian Association, said the deceased, Devang Rawal, had no family or relatives in Uganda.
“Uganda Funeral Services is preparing the body to be flown to India,†adding that his employers were in-charge of the burial arrangements.
Taylor was not certain of when the body would be flown but noted that it had to be on Friday.
Rawal was working as a sales representative with Translink (U) Ltd, a company importing products of Johnson & Johnson and Nestle products.
He was stoned to death on Thursday when he approached a charged crowd that had run amok after another Indian had driven through the procession injuring some people.
Officials from the Indian High Commission on Thursday evening visited Mulago Hospital mortuary where the body of the deceased was being kept.
