MiDCOM is best Nokia phone distributor

PHONE distributor MiDCOM has won the best distributor award of Nokia phones in east and southern Africa.

The MiDCOM group chairman, Bhasker Kotecha, said: “We are grateful to Nokia for appreciating our efforts. We promise to raise the Nokia flag highest in the region.”

The group’s managing director, Anand Kapoor, said: “We worked so hard to achieve this. Hard work pays. We have pushed away the grey market and tried to organise the local market with joint efforts with Nokia.”

The Rocketing Star of South and East Africa Award was presented during the Nokia Middle East and Africa meeting in Jordan recently. MiDCOM is the authorised distributor of Nokia phones in Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.

“We have achieved this in the very first year of our operations,” Kapoor said.
He said they had done a lot of branding and educating the people in order to win their trust and confidence.

“Our phones are genuine and prices competitive. Almost all dealers are buying from us because prices are almost the same as those on the international market or even better. Why risk flying to other countries if you can get the phone here at the same price?” Kapoor asked.

Akash Kumar, the MiDCOM general manager in Uganda, said: “MiDCOM started distributing Nokia products last year in January. In one year we have got this prestigious award. This award brings us motivation.”
