Chepkirwok for Dakar event

ATHLETICS - World junior 800m bronze medallist Abraham Chepkirwok will start his build up to the World Athletics Championships in Osaka by taking part in the Dakar IAAF Grand prix event. The grand prix, the second this season, is due on Saturday in Dakar, Senegal. Chepkirwok, who is due to leave today, has been training for the last three weeks.

Kabojja back

BASKETBALL - National Schools Basketball champions Kabojja and Kibuli face a stiff challenge in a bid to retain their titles. The tournament will run from April 30 to May 5 at Seeta High in Mukono. Kabojja beat new entrants St. Mary’s Kitende to lift the boy’s title while Kibuli won their first ever girl’s crown after seeing off Crane High at the same event last year. Over 30 teams are due in Mukono.

Bachu needed

VOLLEYBALL - KAMPALA City Council volleyball club is negotiating with national women’s team coach Rafi Bachu to prepare their men’s team for the lucrative Rwanda Genocide International. The tournament is due at the Amahoro stadium in May, the Council manager Catherine Echoku said.
