The cost of living is too high!

SIR — In the past, ordinary people enjoyed a lot from their own sweat. Today, they cannot do the same! why? The cost of living in Uganda is above what the majority earn. Many times i have been to shopping centres and markets and I have found out that the prices of certain items increase weekly.
SIR — In the past, ordinary people enjoyed a lot from their own sweat. Today, they cannot do the same! why? The cost of living in Uganda is above what the majority earn. Many times i have been to shopping centres and markets and I have found out that the prices of certain items increase weekly.
What happens when the cost of living keeps raising while the income remains stagnant? One other problem could also be the impact of climate change. Uganda being an agricultural economy that largely depends on climate and wheather is facing serious negative impact of environment degradation. Many farmers have lost track of the farming periods.
The little income they used to earn is also diminishing. How shall we cope with life if the majority of us are farmers who depend on the seasons for our livelihoods? What alternative do we have?
