National issues require better approach

The ugliest part of Mabira Forest riots was the use of violence by various groups to achieve their very narrow objectives.
To build a nation on a good foundation, we have to stop using violence and demonstrations and tribalism to achieve our simple goals.
As in the past, certain groups used the Asians for their own narrow objectives rather than the national interest i.e. economic development for all parts of the country and not only the traders in Kikuubo.
What we don’t realise is that once you target a particular ethnic group to achieve a certain objective, it is very easy to pick on another ethnic group.
Today it is the Asians being attacked but tomorrow they will attack Banyankole, Baganda or any other businessmen. As a principle we must move away from this immediately ly possible and establish better ways of dealing with national issues.
