Lira Municipality, the filth is too much!
The filthy state of the lane between obote avenue and inomo road in Lira Central Division is alarming.
SIR — The filthy state of the lane between obote avenue and inomo road in Lira Central Division is alarming.
Health personnel have been approached several times about the situation but no action has been taken!
They visited the place and even identified the source of the filth but never went beyond that.
Efforts were made to report situation to the district health officer but each time his office was locked!
Right from behind marbrook restaurant up to the FINCA office there are heaps of rubbish from bars, lodges, salons, clinics and restaurants. one wonders why the garbage is not directed to the garbage centre near the market.
Those who have renovated their houses also heap the rubble on this lane and never bother to remove it after completing their work.
Some residents have closed the corridors between the buildings and only open the doors to throw the garbage onto the lane!
Juice is sold at Atomi Music centre which is surrounded by flowing sewage but the municipal and central division authorities have kept quiet! What is going on? This ‘I-dont-care’ attitude is very embarrassing.
