THE Uganda Cricket Association chairman William Kibuka-musoke has invited the Inspector General of Government (IGG) to investigate his treasurer Timothy Kiwagama and organising secretary Davis Turinawe for abuse of office.

In a May 8 letter, Kibuka-musoke called for the intervention of the IGG’s office before “the case is handed over to criminal investigations department and courts of law”.

Kibuka-musoke was reacting to a letter Kiwagama and Turinawe wrote to National Council of Sports alleging that he had abused office and taken over the instruments of powers.

He said he did not get a copy of the letter sent to council but only read the details from the press.

“When he learnt that investigations were taking place, he decided to take all the vouchers and other documentation home. I just want the IGG to come in and settle the matter for the good of the game,” explained Kibuka-musoke in an interview.

When contacted for comment about the vouchers, Kiwagama confirmed that he had taken them because the man they were dealing with -Kibuka-musoke- has under hand methods of dealing with cricket administration and would tamper with the records.

About the missing funds, Kiwagama said that he had nothing to hide.

‘Those are small things that I am going to reconcile within a few days. I will only hand over all the documentation when a council meeting is called,” vowed a determined Kiwagama.
