THE Buoyant Nkumba-Marines are determined to translate last season’s league success against Mogas Falcons into a bigger celebration when the two clash in the national basketball league.

Timothy Odeke’s Marines hope to take advantage of their size and experience to further rattle Falcons and secure their second win of the season against an established team today.

But Marines will be riding on hard luck in regards to Falcons’ performances in earlier games. The former champions have twice managed to turn a 10-point deficit around and overcame challenges from Miracle and Warriors.

Today, Falcons not only boast of their well established front court, but also pride themselves in their ability to provide a finishing punch and stay on course for victory.

In other games, Warriors face Sadolin Power at the same venue after the latter defeated hard-fighting Miracle 76-65 last weekend.

The women’s encounter should make for good viewing as KCC Leopards take on former champions MUK-Sparks at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Isaac Afidra scored 24 points and Emma Baguma added eight points as Kansanga-based Kampala International University crashed Knight Riders 70-56 on Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor stadium.
