ARMENIA-BASED striker Eugene Ssepuuya arrived in the country yesterday determined to fight for a place on coach Laszlo Csaba’s Cranes side.
The gangly forward, who turns out for Armenia league side Banants FC, reportedly paid for his own trip to the country, after being ignored by Csaba for the Nations Cup tie against Nigeria on June 2.
“I have been told that he is already in the country. He should however have communicated to us on arrival but we will trace him and have him set for training,†FUFA vice president Asuman Lubowa said yesterday.
The former SC Villa hit-man will have less than a fortnight to justify his inclusion. Cranes officially start camp at Namboole Stadium on Monday.
Nigeria start camp in Nairobi on May 25.
The Denmark-based Ugandan trio of Hassan Mubiru, Tony Odur and Robert Ssentongo do not have the right attitude to become professionals, soccer scout Claus Brockstedt, has said.
Brockstedt is the director of Uganda Football Academy that took the Ugandans to Denmark. He has also taken Benjamin Ochan and Daniel Sserunkuma.
“They need to change their attitude and understand that professional football is not only a game, but a hard job as well,†Brockstedt said.
