WAISSWA Lukungu saved the best for the home crowd while national 100m champion Stephen Odwar was beaten to the tape at the second edition of the Kyabazinga championships in Bugembe on Saturday.

The MTN sponsored event, saw Lukungu, who lost to Samuel Egadu and Daniel Okech in the last two national trials, take the lead from the start. He beat Egadu (third) and Okech (fourth), together with Odwar who surprisingly finished behind him after a good performance in the past, in the fast and interesting 400m race.

Odwar had earlier on wept after Ndejje’s Patrick Komakech out sprinted him in the 100m race as the huge crowded applauded the runners.
