ARE you tired of files, pens, pins or papers cluttering your desk? A desk tray with an organiser will help you keep tidy and organised.

Desk trays, also referred to as letter trays, can be used both at home and at your workplace.

Mary Namwanje, an accountant with Mate Uganda, says: “A desk tray keeps the desk neat thus creating more space to carry out work.”

Jane Nassolo, a secretary with Pride Afrikah Finance, says that a desk tray saves time.
“Rather than look for different files and documents, with a desk tray, one knows where exactly they are placed,” she says.

On the market, desk trays come in different types, textures and colours. They can be plastic, wooden or metallic.

Harrison Ttula, a salesman, says that metallic and wooden trays last longer and are good for keeping bulky documents. They should, however, be kept away from moisture or water for longevity.

Ttula advises that plastic trays are preferable for keeping light documents and are good for offices because they are easily manageable.

The number of shelves on the tray vary depending on the choice of the buyer. A manager will not need as many shelves as a secretary or an accountant.

One can chose to label the different shelves on it accordingly, that is in-tray, out-tray, urgent, pending etc.

At Game stores, a desk tray costs sh28,400 and it comes with an organiser where you can keep your pens, pencils, business cards, paper clips, staples, pins, rulers or keys plus many other small office essentials.

Elsewhere in town, a desk tray costs between sh10,000 to sh50,000 depending on the type, number of shelves plus of course your bargaining power.
