GOVERNMENT officials led by the vice-president, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, have rallied support for the leader of the opposition, Prof. Ogenga Latigo, saying he has always supported government motions in Parliament.

“I am glad that you elected him. I have fallen in love with you people,” Bukenya told a rally at Kalongo in Pader district on Monday.

Bukenya had just commissioned a vocational school for girls in Agago county, Latigo’s constituency.

He said Ogenga was not like other opposition MPs who make noise in kampala, but always fights to bring services to his people.

He described Ogenga as a water channel that does not leak but takes water (services) to his people to empower them.

During the same rally, state ministers James Kinobe and Gabriel Opio hailed Latigo for being a good leader but advised him to leave FDC and join the NRM party to become a better leader.

Ogenga said: “You (Bukenya) have been with us in our struggles. You come as a real friend of the Acholi and we are happy about it.”
