ENTEBBE - Kalmar City in Sweden recently donated a modern garbage collecting truck to Entebbe municipality. The donation was a result of a twinning programme between Kalmar and Entebbe. The truck is estimated at sh300m.

“The truck will help Entebbe Municipal Council to reduce expenditure on transportation of garbage. Over three trips were being made everyday by the two old vehicles, leading to high costs in fuel” said the town clerk Joseph Kimbowa.

One of the engineers said the truck can carry about eight skips of garbage in one route. It crushes up the garbage, stores it and later releases it at the dumping ground.
