OTHER CITIZENS SAY:
John Chihi (Kenyan), managing director Mediage Public Relations
I watched the game in Abeokuta and I think it was theft — outright robbery. Whenever an East African country is playing against a West African country, I will support the East Africans.
Uganda played well and proved they can beat Nigeria. Uganda will win by 2–1, but it will be a tricky match because Uganda will be under a lot of pressure to perform at home and, the Nigerians will be looking to put their act together.

Lester Davis, Liberian
I want Uganda to win because Nigeria has always qualified for the African Cup and has won.
If Uganda plays as spiritedly as they did in Nigeria, they will win and qualify for the African Cup. I think they have the ability to shock Africa.
I watched the first leg and was impressed by Uganda’s performance. The players have the skill.
They will have support from the home fans. So if they do what they did in Nigeria, they will win by 2–0 or 3–1.

John Kiir, Sudanese businessman
I want Uganda to beat Nigeria, 1–0. My prediction is more of a sympathetic one, having seen the way Uganda was cheated in the first game. It was very painful. There was no reason to deny Uganda the goal they scored. God should reward Ugandans with a win for the sake of justice.

Jackie Lumbasi, Kenyan
This is the first time I am getting interested in football and I will have to watch it at home. I want Uganda to win. Uganda is like home because I have lived here for more than five years. That is long enough to make me Ugandan. So 1–0 for Uganda.

UGANDANS SAY:
Ali Ssengendo
I predicting basing on Uganda’s improved performance in the last one year. Uganda will win by 1–0. They had to cheat us in order to win the first leg and now they still have the nerve to talk of their super stars? Let them come to Namboole and we lay them down. The Nigerians should know that the Cranes’ player, Massa, is back.

Andrew Welishe, audience station manager, Power FM
We are definitely going to win the game. It will be sweet revenge. They cheated us when our team went to Nigeria and I know the referees will try to cheat for them again, but this time, we are going to beat them. We have home advantage and the crowd will be the 12th man. We do not score that many goals, 1-0 to Uganda.

Celestine Byakatonda, boda boda rider
I am not keen on football. I do not really care about who is going to play. All I am thinking about is making money and that is the only thing I will be thinking about on that day. If I get customers going to Namboole to watch the game, I will take them and return to pick more from town.

Tom Lutaaya
Nigeria’s Super Eagles is a good team, but Uganda has greatly improved. I will go for a 1–0 win for Uganda because I think our home support will suffice. Nigerian players might be used to intimidating atmospheres, which they experience week-in, week-out in the European league. But never underestimate the advantage of home support.

Simon Ssuna, chef
I would love Uganda to win, but I just cannot see that happen. When we played against Nigeria recently, we tried because they underestimated us and most of their professional players were thinking about European leagues. Now, the Nigerians are free. Wait and see what they will do to us. Their stars are superior. I say 2-1 win for Nigeria.
