CHURCH officials have been urged to renovate church structures for the Common Wealth Heads Of Government Meeting (CHOGM). In a campaign to raise funds for renovating Rubaga Cathedral for CHOGM, the Kampala Archbishop Rt. Rev. Fr. Cyprian Lwanga Kizito advised other priests to do the same. “Churches should initiate the same programme in their parishes,” he said.

Lwanga called for contributions from Church members. “We ask adults to contribute sh1,000 and sh500 for the children. Over sh200m is needed to renovate the leaking roof and Lwanga is optimistic that it will be one of the sites to be visited by the CHOGM delegates.
