CERTAIN things are best when small, so says the adage “small is beautiful’. Capitol Palace Hotel, a new hideout on Katalima Crescent, Naguru Hill, is small (22 rooms) but very attractive and with lots of amenities.
Although Mercy Wangechi, the general manager, does not think it is fair to refer to Capitol Palace as a hideout, the surrounding area has all the hallmarks of one.
The exquisite hotel has been under construction for three years. This shows that patience pays, thanks to Julius Onen’s vision. The ex-Ambassador (Nigeria), former foreign affairs Permanent Secretary and now with his eyes set for big things on the East African Community board, Onen’s ideal targeted guests are from embassies.
Onen wanted an African feel to the place and this is reflected in the finishing and the waitresses’ uniforms. Privacy is emphasised and there is hardly any noise.
There is lots of greenery, which actually makes the gardens look like a mini forest. Capitol’s
