PRO-Line academy has landed a sh30m boost from Telchoice for Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand’s tour to Uganda.

“We are honoured to have them as our sponsors for the trip,” Mujib Kasule, director of the academy said, explaining that the package will be for the England defender’s three-day stay in the country.

Ferdinand will jet into the country aboard a British Airways at 7.45am on Saturday. He will be accompanied by his father Julian, who is a patron of Pro-Line, together with Maxine, a cousin to Ferdinand and a soccer scout.

They will come along with filming crews from BBC, Sky Sports and Manchester United TV.

Telchoice managing director Ali Jjunju said his company wanted to be part of the development and promised that their commitment to the academy will be long-term.
