I would like to thank the government for banning buveera (polythene bags). Traders in these bags should appreciate the Government’s position. <br>

I think buveera are worse than deforestation. They have considerably polluted the environment and the only way to fight them was to ban them. Rwanda was already ahead of us.
At the borders of Katuna (Uganda-Rwanda border) and Kanyaru (Rwanda-Burundi border), there are strict laws against polythene paper bags.
The police check all bags. When they find them they tear them up and burn them.
