Bank sues Tumukunde
By Edward Anyoli
Centenary Rural Development Bank has sued Brig. Henry Tumukunde over an unpaid loan. The bank claims it gave Tumukunde a salary loan of sh25m and he promised to pay the money within a year.
Through Kimuli & Co Advocates, the bank claims Tumukunde only paid sh20m and breached the contract agreement which he entered into. It wants court to order Tumukunde to pay the outstanding balance of sh5m and an interest of sh3m. The bank alleges that in spite of several reminders, Tumukunde remained defiant about the debt. It contends that it was inconvenienced because of Tumukunde’s delay to clear the debt. The High Court registrar has given Tumukunde 15 days to file a defence.
