PORTUGUESE giants Sporting Lisbon are pursuing the services of Ugandan youthful striker Geoffrey Massa.

Lisbon are reported ready to hand the Egypt-based forward a three-year deal worth euros 10,000 (sh21m) a week.

“Lisbon are using their official Vital to capture the striker as soon as possible. He has been in touch with me since last week,” FIFA agent, Mujib Kasule, divulged yesterday.

Massa’s three-year contract at El Shams expires in June next year.

According to Vital, the 22-year-old attracted interest after engineering Cranes 2-1 win over the Super Eagles of Nigeria on June 2 with two penalty assists.

Lisbon are said to be determined to land the forward before the club’s pre-season training next month.
Meanwhile, Cranes skipper Ibrahim Sekagya, has entered camp with his new club Red Bull Salzburg in Irdning, Austria.

The Ugandan international joined his new team mates for pre-season training. He was joined by fellow new acquisitions Serbian Sasa Ilic and Austrian international Christoph Leitgeb together with Niko Kovac, Johan Vonlanthen, Rene Aufhauser, Jorge Vargas and Markus Steinhofer.

Sekagya signed a three-year deal with the Austrian champions recently worth euros 1m (sh2.2bn) ahead of the side’s Uefa Champions league campaign.

Sekagya opted to miss Uganda’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Lesotho yesterday to conclude the deal with the Austrians.

His first test at the club comes today when they play a friendly with Bahrain national side.
Also lined up for the pre-season is a game between London Premiership side Arsenal on July 25.
