UGANDA starts her CAR Africa Cup campaign with the toughest team they have ever hosted.

Uganda will be up against group B giants Namibia at Kampala Rugby Club tomorrow. Zambia is the other team in the group that will see the winner proceed to the semi-finals.
In their first game, Namibia destroyed Zambia 80-3 in Windhoek to go top of the group.

World Cup-bound Namibia have already had six international build-ups after competing in the IRB Nations Cup in Romania, while Uganda has only had one, the win against Kenya in the Elgon Cup.

In their last meeting in 2003, Namibia gave Uganda a 80-13 thrashing in Windhoek but the Rugby Cranes  have since matured. The Ugandans have registered famous victories against the likes of Zimbabwe and Cote D’Ivoire.

Namibia boast an experienced team with World Cup veterans and several professionals from the South African league.

All the Namibians have impressive international test weight and will certainly tower over their hosts, but local coach, South African David Dobela is ready to defy the odds.

Dobela’s predecessor Chester Williams did the unthinkable on his debut when he conjured up a Cranes 32-7 thrashing of the Ivorians who had been to the World Cup in 1995, besides having seven France-based players.

The Rugby Cranes are always difficult to beat at home just like their soccer brothers — ask Nigeria —and with a vociferous home crowd, the home boys have the potential.

African leopard wing Allan Musoke, back row hard man-Mathias Ochwo and league MVP Edmond Tumusiime have recovered from injury and been declared fit for the game. Boxer turned rugger Robert Seguya retains his wing forward duties while Moses Soita is pushed into the lock position.

Uganda Team sheet:
F. Mudoola, A. Mubiru, B. Makalama, V. Wadia, M. Soita, R. Seguya, M. Ochwo and A. Bukenya (captain). Others are A. Kinene, E. Tumusiime, B. Morro, T. Luggya, T. Mudoola, A. Musoke and S. Wakabi.
