HOSTS Lugogo had to grit their teeth to capture their third Kampala Inter –Clubs tennis tournament title on Saturday.

Lugogo, who gathered 13 points in the one-day team event, edged defending champions Kampala Club by just two points. The clubs competed in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

“It feels nice win. Kampala Club really gave us a run for our money. It was the most competitive edition,” Lugogo Club’s veteran player James Kasumba stated.

Kasumba, Fritf Raijmaker and Thomas Walter were instrumental in securing victory for the Lugogo side.

Debutants Makerere University managed third position, six points behind the winner.

The host club’s second string side Lugogo B came fourth with a paltry five points.

The four clubs contributed money to fund the annual tournament.
